We are pleased to inform that Virtual Power Plant company received a prestigious award „Benchmark. Effective energy project 2016” awarded by the editors of „New Industry” magazine and website wnp.pl. VPPlant was awarded for the Enabler DSR, a service of energy optimization in large scale buildings.
Enabler DSR is a type of optimization service consisting of energy and heat consumption adjustment to building’s variable occupancy while maintaing the comfort parameters for the users. More precisely, VPPlant is using a innovative software and hardware overlay on existing building automation systems. VPPlant created this solution with the co-financing from National Centre for Research and Development in Alfa Bridge programme.
– I am proud that we can create innovations. In the full meaning of this word, I hope. We have set the bar really high for ourselves. We set a goal of creating a Virtual Power Plant in the next few years, power of which will be comparable to a traditional power plant costing over a billion of Polish zlotys. Two, three years ago such idea was unthinkable. Thanks to the work of our team and the support from NCBR it became a reality – said Grzegorz Nowaczewski, CEO of Virtual Power Plant.
– Being awarded such an honour is what motivates us to further work – said Przemysław Paczos, director of department for building ecosystems for technological start-ups in National Centre for Research and Development.
„Benchmark. Effective Energy Project 2016” is an evolution of New Impulse award formula which was granted by editors of both mediums in previous years. This distinction was awarded to companies, institutions and people, who brought innovations to Polish economy and energy sector and determined the direction of positive changes. This time, the organisers decided to broaden their rules of awarding distinctions by giving a special care to energy efficiency. Submissions were sent by companies and institutions operating on energy market. Those submissions were evaluated by experts and teams of editors.
