You could have increased your probability of developing liver and kidney cancer or nervous system disorder. The commonly used disinfection compound (sodium hypochlorite) used in swimming pools enters into chemical reactions with organic waste and creates toxic halogenated compounds. Those compounds are called trihalomethanes (THMs).
