If you accept the premise that not only the need will be the mother of Polish inventions, then where do you find the support for development of Polish breakthrough innovations for energy efficiency projects with potential for global expansion?
Polish economy is emerging from the development phase, in which Poland remained a sufficiently large area at which to aim manufactured in Poland products exclusively for the local market. Currently, creating innovative products becomes necessary for survival in the global market. Effective struggle to produce innovation in product market or business model – gives a chance to Polish companies to continue being competitive in the coming years because in Poland, increasing share of service market will be expsoed to competition from global service providers.

Especially attractive seems to be the combination of the “Internet of Things”, artificial intelligence and distributed energy. For me, innovative action can be shown as walking sideways, albeit in the right purpose to obtain benefits in an acceptable and reasonable time perspective of the financial framework. Our company – to meet the challenges of the SmartGrid sector – developed smart tools to adjust the consumption of electricity and heat in buildings to their variable load while maintaining comfort perceived by people.
The result of participation in programs improving energy efficiency organized by our company are even several dozen percent savings on the cost of electricity and heat , and in the future it will also generate revenues from services based on the new energy market instruments rewarding especially active consumers of energy. To this end, we also started research and development in the field of services like Demand Side Response (DSR) in large buildings. The primary barrier before entering the fast research track for the majority of Polish entrepreneurs is the lack of sources of quick financing which are comparatively easily attainable in Western Europe or the US, but I cherish the hope – that not only need is the mother of Polish inventions – says Grzegorz Nowaczewski, head of the Virtual Power Plant.
